CTMirror, also known as the Connecticut Mirror, is a nonprofit online news organization that focuses on state public-interest news in Connecticut.
The site was launched in January 2010 with $1.8 million in funding and is run by the Connecticut News Project, a nonprofit group dedicated to coverage of state public policy and politics.
The Mirror had 10 full- and part-time staffers in 2013, one of those reporting from Washington, D.C., making it the only news organization in the state with a full-time Washington correspondent. It is supported by at least seven foundations, as well as sponsorships and corporate underwriting. The site offers its stories to local news organizations for no charge. As of 2013, it had partnerships with 13 of the 17 daily newspapers in the state.
The Mirror moved in 2012 into the Connecticut Public Broadcasting headquarters in Hartford. The Mirror shares reporting costs and co-publishes content with WNPR public radio.
The site introduced an opinion section in May 2010.
