As well as keeping up to date with this new field of journalism, First Draft News will provide guides to help journalists better understand social newsgathering, verification techniques, ethics and the law, in-depth investigations, fakes and hoaxes, and other issues affecting the modern newsroom.
Alastair Reid, the site’s managing editor, plans to publish a couple of new pieces of content every day. “The foundation of good journalism is the same, but it’s a new world, and it’s not always easy to adapt and bring that conversation together,” he said. “We can navigate this minefield collectively.”

Here’s what this coalition has achieved because of it’s attempt to “balance”. It has deemed these websites “fake news” and caused their traffic to fall: Democracy Now: 36%; Alternet: 15%; Wikileaks: 30%; Truthout: 25%; Alternet: 63%; Wikileaks: 30%; The Intercept: 19%; Media Matters: 42%; Common Dreams: 37%; Socialist Worker: 47%; etc. Media Matters is one of the most mainstream sites you’ll ever read. And Democracy Now? Oh yes, plenty of fake news there. Are you getting the picture? Their attempt to “balance” right and left wing sites always sounded dubious. The coalition is supposedly trying to ferret out FAKE NEWS, not block left wing sites. But that is exactly what is happening. Wake up.
