A story about police attacking subway riders went from describing “chaotic and shocking scenes” and “cowering commuters” to “elite Hong Kong police” chasing “radical protesters.” Those changes “exemplified the type of heavy-handed, slanted editing that became common in the SCMP newsroom.”
