The inclusion of the Advance NZ party “has prompted concerns the debate could legitimise conspiracy theories in a country where online misinformation has not gained the same traction as overseas.” The party’s leader, a blues guitarist with no interest in politics pre-pandemic, has said Covid-19 is a UN conspiracy to enslave the world, as are fluoridation, 5G, and vaccines. —
