Costco says the monthly magazine, which is funded through advertising dollars, is profitable. “Working at Costco has ‘kind of a lunch-pail mentality,’ said the editorial director. ‘It’s the same thing with the Connection. We just try to play our role.'” (It ranks only behind two AARP magazines and the Parade magazine distributed free in Sunday newspapers.) JB
