Canadian copyright law currently extends to 50 years past the author’s death; the Trans Pacific Partnership would extend that to 70 years. (Marshall McLuhan died in 1980, so 2050.) McLuhan’s The Gutenberg Galaxy was the first popularization of the term “global village.” JB
