65 percent of articles in the news and business sections of the newspapers were written by male journalists. On ‘comment’ pages, 77 percent of articles were by men, according to a survey of bylines and photographs in the print editions of the Times, Financial Times, Guardian and Daily Mail, each over seven dates during May and August of this year conducted by the European Journalism Observatory.
