61Fresh is the latest experiment from Globe Lab, the paper’s R&D department, to find ways to harness social signals to see what readers are talking about.
The new project provides a real-time API for closed captions, making it possible to code against what’s being said on TV right now — and enabling a broad range of applications.
The paper’s in-house innovation lab will work on consumer apps for Boston.com while focusing on the look and presentation of BostonGlobe.com. Justin Ellis
